About Us

SpecialEyes Optical is the only eyewear shop in Tarrant County that is exclusively for children. We’re located on the second floor of the Pediatric Eye Specialists building in Fort Worth and can be easily found in our new Southlake office.

Carlos Aguilar, ABOC
Director
Carlos began working in the field of ophthalmology in 1997, after serving in the United States Marine Corps. He joined the staff of Pediatric Eye Specialists in 2005. Carlos is certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) and through the American Board of Opticianry (ABOC). He enjoys playing softball and tennis, and coaching kids' soccer.

Elia Clay
Optician
Elia has more than 10 years of experience as an optician and stays current on the latest technology and trends in the industry. A Texas native, she loves helping parents and children find the perfect pair of glasses for them. She also enjoys spending time with family, reading or shopping for shoes.

Jessica Bruns
Optician
Jessica started preparing for her career as an optician immediately after high school. Today she has more than 10 years experience, and has a particular skill for picking the perfect frame to fit each patient. In her free time, Jessica enjoys musical performance. She is a vocalist and guitarist with two area bands.

At our child-friendly shop, little ones can play on the carpeted floor while our experienced opticians help you.
